Troy Villar

Bio

Troy Villar serves as the Director of Information Technology for Child and Family Service, one of Hawaii’s oldest and largest nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving the community. In his role at a nonprofit, Troy faces ongoing challenges in the realm of cybersecurity. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and leads the ISC2-Hawaii Cybergenerations program, promoting cybersecurity awareness and education.
With over 30 years of extensive experience in software development, Troy has a proven track record, including the development of a comprehensive Point-of-Sale (POS) system that was implemented by one of Hawaii’s major retail conglomerates during his tenure as IT Director. His expertise extends beyond software, as he also builds hardware such as servers, computers, and POS terminals, in addition to designing and implementing complex networks.
Troy holds a degree in Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University, where he also served as the Associate Director of Data Services. Outside of his professional endeavors, Troy enjoys biking and walking his dogs.
